Overview
- Bad Religion is a heavily influential punk rock band that was formed in Southern California in 1980 by Greg Graffin, Brett Gurewitz, and Jay Bentley. It has since expanded to include Greg Hetson, Brian Baker, and Brooks Wackerman. At various points throughout the band's run, drummers Jay Ziskrout, Pete Finestone, and Bobby Schayer have also played with them. Today, Bad Religion can be viewed as veterans in their art and profession. Their records comment on the social, religious, scientific, and political landscapes and dogmas of our time and our past, but tend to avoid direct citation of people or events. They rely on allegories, metaphors, and short story-telling to deliver their voice and messages.
- Bad Religion's musical style ranges from hardcore over more mainstream rock to melodic punk ballads written in a mix of prose and poetry.
- It advocates questioning, identity, solidarity, and reasons against war, greed, intolerance, fear-mongering, and other socio-political, pseudo-psychological issues.
- Read about their logo, known by fans and the band as the Cross Buster.

Comments
- I would describe its general outlook and message as vigilant optimism. The vocals, catchy guitar riffs, clever drumming, and the hard-hitting lyricism make up the classic Bad Religion song
